Maybe it’s a device thing. On my phone, that page only shows a 3D rendering that spins if you try to scroll. Is there pricing and timing info too?

Couldn't find pricing or timing...though I'd swear on an earlier version of that website I saw the $3500 figure bandied about. Don't quote me on that.

Hit and miss on my iPad but I see it if I screw around a little refreshing and scrolling (sizing, not pricing).

Wow, was I off the mark...
Just got a "Pre-Launch Sneak Peak" email from Carl with a link pointing towards this webpage:

http://info.pursuitcycles.com/pre-launch-sneak-peek

"We will be launching Pursuit Cycles to the public June 1st!"

$5800 for the frameset

Page has more pics, sizing info, and full build options listed.

And you can't buy just the frameset, it seems. US made from a respectable builder. Very limited sizes; if I could even afford one (complete bike from them), they don't offer my size.

The bike looks good in the pics. Nice solid colors chosen; should be recognizable on the street in those colors from a distance.

Wow, $12k for Frameset, etap, Enve wheels/controls. I can’t see anything on the website that would justify this bike other than its exclusivity. I hope they sell them all but it just proves to me, once again, that we cyclists are lemmings and are susceptible to marketing which promises us that next bike will be so much more satisfying than the one we currently own. People will say....it’s my forever bike, my grail bike, etc.....then it will show up on ebay in a month. Sorry for the rant about my own personal bias....it’s just a bike, pick one out that fits and ride the snot out of it.

well, a new s-works is about 12 grand for a similarly spec'd top shelf setup.

similar pricing for any other big box top shelf rig.

if i was in the target buying market, i'd rather have this.

well, made by hand in small batches in the US. that means something.

my guess is that these are being made for the customers who would ordinarily come to carl strong for a frame but want something more modern and racy than steel or titanium - now he has something to entice them with.

that said - i'm just not sure the demographic exists that wants a "pure race frame" - which is how these are described that can afford to drop 10k on a bike.

let's face it - outside of a very small circle of masters racers who care about bespoke bicycles - most folks out there pinning a number and racing at the ameteur level are young and largely broke. 10k + is a big ask to get a bike under an amateur racer.

it's much harder to justify the big price tag for a small brand bike if it's not made to measure.

final thought is that, whether real or perceived or whatever - i think the majority expectation is that bigger companies like specialized, trek, etc - have real R&D departments - have done CFD and wind tunnel testing to understand how aerodynamics really work, have prototype testing, and race winning performance, etc.

i wish carl luck. i will say that he is one of the guys in this industry who you dont hear anything but good things about, so it's an easy assumption that he's done his research, knows the market and the challenges of selling carbon bikes.

i would love to see one show up in my local scene.

He needs to call it an aero frame to justify the 5k plus price a la Cipollini, Pinarello, Alchemy, De Rosa and Pinarello.

https://www.wrenchscience.com/

Or he should hype it as a MUSA frame and ask 9 grand a la Parlee and Argonaut.

Faux lugs could justify a $6500 msrp a la Colnago?

But, he should not try to compete with Specialized's superb commodity. The S Works Tarmac Disc is only $4500. Walmart pricing, man.

Not sure where I saw his pricing quoted, but I was under the impression Crumptoms were in the 7 grand range.

$5425. Bargain!
