OT: Audio gear, what have you got?

I know many of you are into hi-fi, which seems to be a dying hobby these days. I thought it might be fun for us to see what setups are out there. Mine is below:

Oppo BDP-103 disk player -> Schiit Audio Asgard 2 headphone amp -> Sennheiser HD800 headphones

MiniDSP DDRC-22D running Dirac Live room correction

Schiit Audio Bifrost DAC

Linkwitz ASP (Analog Signal Processor)

Rotel RMB-1048 Eight channel power amp

Linkwitz Lab Orion 3.3.1 SN speakers

Tim

That's the true litmus test of whether you're an audiophile; to have equipment with names no one's ever heard of!

Any other equipment is not worthy.

Simaudio Moon 340i integrated
Arcam CD36 CD player (using the Moon’s DAC)
Denon DCD-A100 SACD player
VPI HW19 turntable, Rega tonearm, Sumiko cart.
Totem “The One” speakers
Totem Lightning subwoofer
Nordost cables

And that’s just the stuff I’m using currently. I have other stuff that I really need to get around to selling. It’s really a worse habit than bicycles for me!

used to work in a high-end audio store...so, BTDT with those pricey toys.

all I have now is a H-K amp and some mid-level JBLs.

don't really care if the sound is all that great or not since I rarely listen to music in the house.

car has some kind of funky Bose system...sounds pretty muddy. but when all you listen to is FM radio or CDs, it doesn't really matter...

MacBook Air > DAC > tripath amplifier > klipsch heresy

Just moved and had to leave the good stereo behind along with all of my records. I brought the turntable though so eventually I’ll do something with it.

TV > preamplifier > Yamaha HS50 / Dayton 10” Sub

Nothing crazy but it sounds pretty good.

Ok i’ll play...

Restored/modded Thorens TD160 Turnteble
EAR preamp
Line Magnetic power amp
Pro Ac speakers

Super simple. Would like a good Dac for my laptop...but other than that, I’m done. Unless my gal wins the CA lottery then I’ll be upgrading to some Air Tight components!

In the upstairs office I have a Yamaha CR 420 receiver.

Home headphone setup:
Foobar2000 -> iFi Nano DAC -> Bottlehead Crack amp (modded), or Cavalli Tube Hybrid -> Senn HD650 or modded Fostex T50RP

Work headphone setup:
Foobar2000 -> Audioengine D1 DAC (slight mods) -> Schiit Magni 3 amp -> AKG K553 Pro. Inexpensive stuff that won't leave my crying if it grows legs.

Home loudspeaker setup:
Pro-Ject Debut Carbon turntable w/ Benz Micro Gold MC cart, iFi iPhono 2 phono pre, Philips LHH500 CD player or TEAC UD-301 DAC (both slightly modded) for digital stuffs. Having acquired the ability to rip my SACDs, I no longer keep a dedicated box in the rack for them. Cary CAD-5500S preamp and CAD-300M monoblocks. A bunch of this upstream gear needs to be revamped now that I'm rocking my Dad's old Wilson WATT/Puppy 5s. The system sounds pretty good, but would benefit from a little more ballsy amplification. After that the turntable could use an upgrade. Also need to do something about room treatment. Dropping a few thou on bike stuff this year has put the hurt on my hi-fi budget.

Linn LP12/Ittok LVII tonearm/Hana SL cartridge
Lundahl step-up
Rotel cd player (modified)
Wright Sound WPL10V preamp
Mcintosh MC 240 amp
Audio Note E speakers w/AN stands
Discovery cables

2nd system:
Naim 42
Hicap and Snaps (a little confused by Naim-land terminology here...)
Harmon Kardon cd player
Denon M10 cassette player
Audioquest Dragonfly
Snell original K speakers
Headphones: Grado SR-60 and SR-80, AKG 701

Currently unused or in various states of disrepair
(this is where it gets crazy):
Snell JII speakers
Thorens 520 turntable with Origin Live/RB300 tonearm
a couple Denon cartridges (103 and 103R)
Dynaco ST-70 amp
Bottlehead Foreplay preamp
Cambridge CD player (needs repair)
Naim 35 (needs repair, on loan)
Pioneer SP-BS22 speakers (mentioned in another thread by someone--nice
speakers if you have a small room and you're on a budget)
Pass Labs amp kit (needs to be built)
3-4 broken solid state amp I inherited from my grandfather and refuse to get rid of
Tandberg and TEAC reel to reel tape decks...

Still willing to buy any Peter Snell-era Snell speaker (especially K or JII).

Rogue Audio M180 Monoblocks
Revel 228Be speakers
4 x Revel B10 Subwoofers (paired and stacked)
Shunyata Hydra 6 & PS8 power conditioners
Full loom on Sain Line systems cables (IC, power & speaker)
