Velocipede Salon

Anyone know why it's offline all day?

I have no idea what Velocipede is but could this be related to that Crowdstrike disaster?

Don’t know why, but I’ve been unable to access VS for the past two days.

I dunno, I have been on it like three times today. Once or twice I had to reload, but that has been happening on a lot of sites.

I believe they have been having lots of trouble lately with Bots and DDOS attacks. I am sure they are trying to deal with the latest attack and/or overload of requests and will be back soon.

Maybe the Admins here could give them some help.

I can log on and see posts, but there don't seem to be very many of them, fewer than I would think.

A couple of years ago during a chain waxing discussion the moderator/owner(?) Too tall josh something derided/snickered at it/us --as he has an oil based lube to sell (that many people love).

I think(?) I made a fairly harmless comment pointing that out and I've been blocked ever since. I'd love to see a copy and paste here because I can't remember my post.

If he did in fact block me forever that's some insecure clown s...

It 95% sucked after the early Serotta days anyway so NBD.

Hope it dies.

I poke my head in there every now and then, it's still mostly a select group congratulating each other on how cool they are, what bespoke thing they recently got, etc.. there are some good threads every now and then, but mostly just a group that furthers the idea that cycling is some elite fraternity that most aren't up to (cool guy club).. while I think Paceline has lost some of what attracted me to it when it was the Serotta Forum, there's still a great group of folks here that freely, and without pretense, give great info to all levels of riders.

I like this side of the trail..

Yawn. Both places have their place. Both are good places.

FWIW, Nixfrixshun is excellent lube. At least ATMO. (I pay retail to use it, btw. And based on my dealings with him, Toots is solid.)
