I guess they go hand in hand, I just think that an iconic bike should in itself be something outstanding/ground breaking. Maybe Boardman's Lotus? Those Cervelos (CSC ones) that were aero? I guess the big fat alloy tubed Cannondales mentioned previously are a good shout.
