27.5 /650b x 2.1(ish) tire options

I’m thinking of picking up some Schwalbe Thunder Burt Liteskin 27.5 x 2.1 tires. Hopefully they fit on my BMC Monstercross Disc... Originally I was going to try and run a Nano 29 x 2.1, but turns out that the WTB KOM i23 and that tire are just to wide in the rear. I tried an S-Works Renegade 1.95 as well, and was still too snug for comfort.

Anybody have a tire in this arena that they really like? I usually run the WTB Riddler 45 which works out really well for most of my riding. I’m looking for a bit more volume at this point so figure I would explore the 650b route. I would also explore a tire like the Sendero for a more aggressive tire when needed.

At the end of the day i’m trying to get more “monster” in my Monstercross. Suggestions or even general conversation is appreciated. Thanks!

The Thunder Burt is actually a great tire. The low center knobs are quick while the bigger shoulder knobs help with cornering. It runs true to size on 23mm internal rims.
I like the Hutchinson Black Mamba 27.5x2.0. Low profile knobs and very supple. Quick. Rides nice. Runs true to size also.

Really like the Liteskins.

They roll pretty well on paved also for what they are.

Use them only in the drier months.

+1 Thunder Burts, fast and easy to dial in psi. IMO, only set-back is they don't brake that greatly when thinks get technical or wet.

Maxxis makes some pretty great 27.5 rubber - Ardent or Race TT have good hardpack abilities. The Re-Fuse is a surprisingly versatile 2.0in tire, bit more substantial than a hyperlite Compass.

also WTB Ranger or Trail Boss if you have the clearances. Not necessarily aggressive, rather, they continue to track well when things get loose and still feel appropriate over asphalt transport stages.

Thunder Burt liteskin are some nice tires. Not sure if there is a g-one allroad 2.1, but I really like my g-ones as well.

Looks like an interesting tire. It seems like it would clear mud pretty well. NIce bike by the way.

This is my only real reservation with the tire. I would have a bit of overlap between the TB and the 700 resolute, but would get the volume of the 650.
