There is one that is near where I live that I have seen a few times. It has HaHa written all over the whole car.

I saw a Porsche 918 Spyder with a camo wrap parked on the street in London. It was dirty and had 8-10 parking tickets on the windshield. Probably 7 or 8 years ago.
I have seen a lot of plain colored wraps in great colors. Jeff |

Is a wrap actually going to protect your paint in a desert/high UV environment?
No experience with wraps but I have a bit of curiosity because it looks like one way to get the car you want in a color you want (as in not red, dark blue, or the white to black spectrum of greys). |

I was a graphic designer in my previous life, and toward the end of my career, vehicle wraps were becoming more prominent and readily available.
The concept is cool, but the execution is absolutely everything, as it is with most aspects of life. Anyway, premium vinyl should always be specified, and more importantly, a well trained, fairly seasoned technician should be employed. The problem I see with someone who isn’t experienced and in a hurry is typically, one must apply quite a few cuts to the vinyl for proper fitment and micro-positioning. These cuts have to be quite surgical and ONLY cut the vinyl, not get into the precious paint underneath! Any significant and deep cuts will promote corrosion if the paint is compromised, as you can imagine. Plus, the vinyl in general, can trap moisture in some situations as well. Anyway, not to rain on a parade but be forewarned if the vehicle means a lot to you. |

... because it sure is non-optimal from the outside.

I used to see a Bentley Continental GT Convertible wrapped in purple velvet every so often at my local supermarket. It made that G Class look good. I would hope the owners have a sense of humor. IMHO a matte metallic gray looks absolutely fantastic on the right car, as it emphasizes the body contours -- unlike that textured diamond wrap, which completely flattens the shading.
