184 mph on a bicycle.

Probably behind a paywall. Maybe someone has a link around? Ever wondered what it’s like to pedal a bicycle at 184 miles per hour? Probably not. It’s an eccentric and wild proposition -- not to mention dangerous. But it’s precisely what Denise Mueller-Korenek, a former elite junior cyclist and 45-year-old mother of three, attempted last September on the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. |

I watched the video yesterday. It's crazy -- and pretty cool.

She rides and trains at the San Diego Velodrome. Really cool woman and pretty darn fast on a track bike.
You couldn't pay me enough to do this. Seems incredibly dangerous. |

i think she said she had plenty of fear, but she prepared well and just faced up to it -- the mark of a true champion.
seriously impressive performance. very nice that both howard and rompellberg shared their hard-won experience with her team. chapeau! wonder what kind of wattage she pushed in the draft at that speed -- 300 maybe? Last edited by wallymann; 01-16-2019 at 03:57 PM. |
