Perfect weather this time around. Dry (except one muddy section that I walked), sunny, cool. Even the gravel seems a bit smoother and smaller this year. The only downside, I brought my 38-pounds tank-like disc gravel hybrid bike with 43 mm Rock n Road, and even though that thing can slay any gravel dragons and blast through any technical course without even picking a line, I was dropped by the front group of riders in their 16-17 Ibs carbon wunderbikes. I kinda expected that. So I ended up just riding by myself or jumping behind smaller group of riders to catch a draft. It was fun overall, safely completed my annual ritual of doing just this gravel ride. Still reached the same conclusion: I am not a groader at heart, but I am now scheming my next budget gravel bike that will break the 20 Ibs sound barrier,
