It is incredibly difficult to get to wc for Sweden as of late. Well its to difficult for most european teams.

Get germany in pot 4 years ago, finish 2nd in that pot. You get portugal for play off.
Finish 2nd after france this time, get italy for play off.

What the ****!!!
Oh, jeezus. This is NOT what I would have preferred. tuscanyswe seems like a great guy, and I started this thread thinking of him, and now this?

Oh well, come what may, we will still share some beers afterward, right tuscany?

Smells pretty fishy...but then again FIFA is a fish-eating nation.

Napoli held on surprisingly well today. Thought Abu Dhabi City was going to going to put on a running riot, but Napoli held on tough.

Similarly impressed by Tottenham. Then again, I bet Cadence knows all about Tottenham . Opps, there's goes my second strike for the week.

Otoh, BVB looks shaky. Can't even break down APOEL...

It's amazing; I think Pep is truly in love with Sarri. Pep heaps praise on Sarri/Napoli every day lately, even as MC beat Napoli. Pep is learning the Mou-media-psych game very well.

The big problem for Napoli now might be Shakhtar....

I love Tottenham, my favorite EPL team for years!

Now can we just find a new manager for my Gunners? AW has been great but Arsenal has underachieved for too many seasons now, and collapsed in the second half of games too frequently, for nothing to change. Klopp coming to Liverpool shows what a new voice/vision can do.

Ancelotti is available. You need someone like that to placate all the prima donna personalities on Arsenal. Thomas Tuchel might not be a bad idea though

I donno about Klopp. Liverpool can't defend, and it's hard to imagine them getting into a Champions League position

That last match broke my heart, Gunners really need a new manager. did you know lacazette has yet to play a full game? its like clockwork for the manager to put in giroud for lacazette at the 75th minute. doesn;t matter if we are ahead, behind, playing a tall physical defense who slow, or a defence whos weak in the air.

Wenger has no tactics whatsoever, he is a fraud. The league is too technical now for frauds.

And Xhaka is a shockingly poor CM. like my least favorite CM ever to wear the Arsenal shirt. worse than Coquelan

Turbo-skated, even. That guy is amazing when he's on.
That was a hell of a tandem.

Not black/blue supremacy, of course, but close.

Mine too. It was every failing rolled into one game. Arsenal just has no heart, no passion, no anger. I love beautiful passing as much as anyone but cerebral play, without the individual brilliance of an Henry, comes up short too often. AW's personality just doesn't work when an entire team adopts it.

Obvious, of course, but worth repeating.
No matter the age, this guy was/is absolutely amazing.

Very bad start - to say the least and then to miss a PK?
Ohh was I in a bad mood.
ADL said before the game that he would prefer to have the starters rest (wish he would stay out of it) - jinxed it as Lorenzo now has a knock - hope is he fit for Inter.

Inter looked dangerous there. Reyna beat, needed a defender to clear the shot on goal

That was a superb defensive play by Albiol to save Reina. Handa also had some great saves.
Inter were better today, more aggressive, and I was really hoping for the 1-0, but I'll take the 0-0 away.

WOW - we watched the same game and I thought that Napoli was a much better team. Even the announcer said there is only one team on the pitch and its Napoli.
I thought it was a lopsided first half - all Napoli. Candreva is fast, Icardi wasn't a factor and Perisic was quiet. It seemed as though Inter was playing with 5 in the back - tough to penetrate but Mertens should have scored - Lorenzo should have as too, but the keeper - Handanovic? did well.
Was hoping that Napoli could get the 10 in a row to tie Roma. - maybe next year.
