As a life long motorcyclist all I can say about that movie is it did nothing to help with the public's perception of our chosen transportation medium. But it was 1969 and that and Woodstock seemed to set the tone. Thankfully most of us made it out alive.
A far better film made just two years later by a guy named Bruce Brown (of The Endless Summer fame from 1966) was On Any Sunday and that was a truly positive portrayal of our sport. Still is! As for Peter I think I remember him best from Dirty Mary Crazy Larry |

I don't think easy rider was about your transport medium
it was about an incredibly dynamic time in American history and the dudes just happened to be riding choppers as a way to tell a much larger story.
time to get on your transport medium of choice cuz we are in those times again. Quote:

Ot
In the early 90s I owned a MBZ 300TD (great car, gave up my '73 911S to get it a month after my son was born). One day I was picking my car up and there was a very nice 6.9 with Montana plates up on the lift, which I admired, and my mechanic told me it belonged to Peter Fonda, he drove it back and forth between LA and his ranch in Montana. Presumably, at a very high rate of speed.
Peace. |

"Those times again"? I don't see the correlation. I'm less worried about getting shot but far more worried about getting hit by someone texting... Last edited by witcombusa; 08-16-2019 at 06:24 PM. |

Loved the movie. Hated the ending. Peter Fonda was great for his day.

I think anyone riding a motorcycle without a front brake never really expected to live to be 79.
