Seat tube cracks - trouble?

That long slot on the back looks like an okay design choice, but using such a short slot on the front looks like it is just begging for material to have a stress concentration when the collar is tightened. It should have been designed with a longer slot, or no slot at all.

this is fixable right? but how? OP should be aware that the fix is the cost of the repair, plus the cost of the paint to match. lucky no decals there...that'd be another charge.

Shipping too if to Calfee, etc. Looks like there’s an outfit in Nova, Concept 2 Composite that I will have to check out. Not sure what to do except to stay off the road. Maybe I’ll just leave it on the trainer and move on.
