Bummer
I wish them well. Used to live in the same zip code as where their HQ is located, and pretty much ride by their HQ on many of my rides. Funny enough, back when I lived in NJ, I ordered an original Hammer trainer from Competitive Cyclist. That trainer went from Saris, to Utah, to NJ, and then back to the very same zip code. |

That's a bummer, I was considering buying one of the trainers at the crazy price but with this note I am not so sure there will be any support down the road....

I got one of their trainers 2 years ago and have had nothing but frustration with it and absolutely no customer support to go with it. They used to be THE name in power training but clearly weren’t able to scale and keep up.
Sorry to see a US brand go but they lost my recommendation long ago Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Temporary demand results in surplus supply, if the flip in demand isn't timed right.
Sucks, but easy to see coming in general. Tough to see when in the moment. |

I bought an H3 smart trainer earlier this year, too. Hope that there will be support somehow in the future, and more hopeful still that there will be no issues.

Well I emailed them a simple question about the trainer I received two weeks ago and still havent heard back. Its still sitting in the box, but im wondering if it should go back if people have a bunch of problems with it.

Who could have possibly seen this coming?
I view it as just blind greed to continue to scale up and up and up as if there were an infinite pool of people who were going to continue to purchase smart trainers. Any fool should have been able to see the pandemic induced indoor exercise boom would come to an end eventually. The fact is there are only a finite number of people who are willing to spend $$$ on an indoor exercise machine and they've all got one now. I feel sorry for the employees who got caught up in this and will lose their jobs and paychecks as a result, but this was a management fumble unfortunately.

I'm hoping for the demand for bikes to drop.

After I sell my wife’s bike…that I can’t even move for less than 50% retail.
Last year when we bought it there wasn’t anything in the country available… |

I suspect (smidge of knowledge) that this story is ultimately bigger than the Pandemic even with infrastructure and rack sales remaining strong. Time to sell.

Bummer
I got rid of my older Tacx trainer that was working fine as it was way out of warranty… hinging that I’d get a 2 year warranty on this and it’s be worth the swap… there goes that plan.
I have to say though, I’ve gotten about 5 rides in so far and I like the unit a lot… super quiet, guilted than my Tacx neo 1 was, and no issues on my end. Hoping it stays that way for a few years… we’ll see

This is sad news, but Saris products from my experience have been solid, going back to the old mag trainers for those that might have purchased recently or thinking of buying their sale items.
I bought an H2 at an incredible price back in 2018 and haven't had any issues outside of a loose power connector plug and I ride it 3-5 times a week. A little bit of foam wrapped around the connector helps keep it in place now. H3's for $400 was an incredible deal for those that got one. Their customer service was good when I needed it, so sad to hear about this. |
