Switched to Enzos a few years back....just as good, half the price. THey recently changed their container too...my guess is supply chain issues and could not get the old containers.

Assos has not be as good since they changed the formula..... (kidding...no idea if any better or worse....just yelling at clouds)

Joking aside, I think assos did in fact change the formula, possibly in early 2000's? I remember having a jar of it around Y2k and it was like a white cream. Purchased more maybe 5 years later and it was noticeably different.

edit:

a little bit of info here:

It definitely changed from the original and I heard that the latest iteration has some of the “tingle” that the original formula offered.

Holy digging into archived web posts to show the forumula changed. Who cares if the formula changed 10 years ago? Nothing to do with the price of putty in Peru.

I'm pretty sure the OP was asking if the formula changed from the old container that was most recently for sale, to the new container which is larger. The answer is no. The cream inside is the same. Just a different, larger container.

I used Assos chamois cream for decades. Then I ran into "issues" 2 years ago and finally late last summer decided to try Noxzema. Improvement was rapid and happy to report that the issue has not returned.

Holy Gianni.
I used the old blue stuff and remember the change. That’s why I enquired if there was a change other than the new container.
Sticker shock is the big change. Last tubs I bought were roughly $15 in the land where it was created.
The LBS has the Enzo’s stuff on the shelf. Based on recommendations, I may give it try.

Maybe it's because you're in the desert. When it gets humid in the summer out here on the E. coast, chamois cream is the difference between life and death for me! (I don't bother with it during the other 3 seasons, but God help me without it during humid summers.)
