Cav wins British Road title ... TdF or no?

Most likely no. Lefevere is afraid of insulting/losing Jakobsen.

But still ... props to Cav for winning another GB title ... nine years later.

I was watching this on GCN+ earlier today. I don't think I've ever seen him win from such a small breakaway before. I thought the others would attack hard to try to drop him, but it looked like neither of the other two wanted to fully commit.

Once they started slowing down and playing games, it was all over.

That was one hard race. Not the usual Cav win.

Pro cycling is a business and it is measured in eyeballs. Folks want to watch Cav compete. He'll be in the Tour.

One was a U23 rider on the FDJ devopment team, the other has no team.

Trinity Racing isn’t a no team. It has produced Ben Healy, Luke Lamperti, Ben Turner, Samuel Watson (the guy who finished second and is one to watch) and … Tom Pidcock.

That was a HARD race. Equally, the women raced in 30mph winds and pouring rain, and a 19 yr old won her first pro race after a 30k solo. Enjoyed both of them. Worth a watch if you have GCN+

Cool, but none of the 3 podium finishers is on Trinity Racing.

I agree, and I think (and hope) you're right. Cav was one of the best stories in last year's tour and if I were a sponsor, I'd be making the call to LeFevere to include him on the team. Drop a leadout guy if you have to, designate stages for each sprinter, whatever. Cav just needs one and millions of people will be glued to the TV rooting for him. It's one of the most exciting things that could happen at this year's Tour. A sponsor's dream, especially for a team that doesn't have a GC contender.

Also, it appears that Cav did his part. He's fit and fast at the right time of year, and proven he can hang with the youngsters. It might be a different story if he wasn't riding well... but he is.

I'll bet The Standard Wager (Mortimer!) that he's in. Crossing my fingers, anway!

Cyclingnews:
Samuel Watson is still an U23 riding for Groupama-FDJ's development team, while Alexandar Richardson has no team this year and is riding as a privateer.

Velonews reports Richardson as riding for Le Col.
