Trek 420 Fast Track 650b dirtbag rando

I built this one up somewhat recently with parts from SPP, jh_on_the_cape and pinkshogun. I found the whole bike recently for $75 but replaced most of the drivetrain. It's running Tektro 559s and Zac19 wheels wrapped in Pari-Motos. The ride is really, really smooth. I mainly use it to tow my daughter around on the local bike path but I'm going to start taking it to work (I might throw the new Shimano flat/SPD pedal on it).

I love the 6503 bits especially. The crank is 167.5 to offset some of the lower BB from the conversion. I'm using a 7 speed cassette (12-32) and have the gearing for just about anything.

This is my first bike with 650b and a front bag and I really am sold on it for anything other than a hammerfest. Being able to shed a layer or grab a snack from the bag while riding is super handy.

I just used the 20% off at Velo Orange to order some snakeskin metal fenders for this thing to replace the 700c PB ones I bent into fitting (poorly). Future plans include actually buying some bar tape instead of recycling the same bits of tape.

I love blue-collar bikes.

What are you using in the bottom water bottle? Is that a toolkit?

Yeah, a flat kit.

Some better pics from yesterday. This thing is heavy but rolls quickly.

Edit: whoops, looks like my camera was fogged up for this shoot.
