Finkle's Monolith

As Ian mentioned in his Q&A on "What is the most unusual / unique bicycle you've ever built?", he mentions the Leviathan and Finkle's Monolith.

The Leviathan

Quote:
This one is a special project I have been working on in between other builds. It had been a while since I built something for myself so I figured it should be something over the top, and a chance for me to try a few things I had been interested in. It is a whole lot of fun to ride and I am looking forward to more warm weather for longer rides.

Some of the features are: internal cable routing, a missing seat tube, aero head tube joint, extended down tube, custom bar/stem combo.

dear mr. ian,
are you making cyclocross frames? i heard one of my cousins claim that you make all your own lugs. why do you prefer to make your own over using pre made designs?

Hey Mr. Squirrel, I make 'cross frames when people order them, so far I have only made a couple under the Icarus name but I do have more coming up in the queue.

I don't make many fully lugged frames but I do make all my own "lugs" for bi-laminate joints. It has always just seemed easier and more solid to me but I know other builders will cannibalize lugs for their bi-lam joints.

Beautiful frames with some very unusual in the mix, that shows how versatile you are

I was quite close to order one of your frames, maybe two years ago? I was totally sold on your filet brazing but finally I went in another direction. But I really appreciated the easy and friendly communication Ian
