Anyone riding the new Easton EA90SLX wheels?
Anyone riding the new Easton EA90SLX wheels? There's a pair for sale on the local Craigslist at a good price. The specs look good (in terms of wide rims, weight, etc.), but any searching for reviews turn up the old 9/10-speed narrow and flexy version.

Maybe. I'm not sure if mine are the newest, or are the older version simply upgraded to 11spd.

These are 16/20 spokes and ride nicely from what I can tell. I'm not super sensitive to flex, since my older Fuji frame has a bit of flex already. For the sub-$200 price I paid, I'm very very happy to have a lightweight set like this.

Do they have aluminum nipples? I have the older version which came with red aluminum nipples and could pretty much count on breaking a spoke every six months. That sucked since releasing the brake caliper on the front wheel MIGHT give enough clearance to ride home. I have since replaced about half of the nipples on the front wheel with brass. Otherwise they ride nice and changing the free hub is a snap.

https://www.eastoncycling.com/produc...a90-slx-wheels. I think the red spoke nipples are a previous generation. Looks like the MSRP is $1200, so I'm guessing a sub-$200 pair is also a previous generation.
