Figured out another way to not have my wife be pissed I went riding!

Today (August 3) is our 18th anniversary. I ended up riding a little over 80 miles, but came up with a great way to diffuse any possible tension (there was none btw).

I rode out to the village where we were married, snapped a picture of the place we were married and immediately posted it with an anniversary message.

I've got to get some points for creativity there!

I just bought her a Bernina Quilting/Embroidery Zoot high end machine and renovated the sewing room for production.

I hope my method last longer than yours...

Cost more than any ONE bike I have built by 2x just for the Bernina kit.

One....

Glad she does not subscribe to N+1 like I do....

Smooth move on the picture! Taking notes here.
My issue isn't the wife but my 5 year old selling me on a guilt trip when I get home. Asking me what do I love more, my bikes or him and his brother.

Very smart move. It's good to be creative and also get a ride in.

Today was our 35th. I celebrated by bring home a LB of fresh cod for her to cook for dinner. Then I did the potatoes and greens. We split a beer (don't ask). Great anniversary. Just not ready to go out for dinner.

Your think they came up with that guilt trip on their own? Think again

Can't use this method unless I can ride 800+ miles and back before she notices.

I respect and applaud your creativity, resourcefulness, and dedication to maintaining a happy, healthy, and loving relationship with your bike.

I've never had that issue with my kids. Maybe because my wife works on Saturday's and I was on duty and took them out to do fun stuff when they were little. Then in the summer I'd have them every Tues & Wed as well. Then came the bike trailer, then their own bikes on the rail trail.

During that time I'd get creative. If we were having a family gathering I'd ride to it and meet them.

Last summer my daughter (at 16 yrs old) did a 35 mile (organized) ride with me and this summer they've both been on the road with me and while my daughter has been working part time, my son (13) has put in quite a few miles.

Get out at sunrise - should be able to get most of those miles in before she gets pissed.
