Wild. Also good for them.

Do we know if this affected the other publications? I'm surprised Pinkbike has been pretty smooth sailing in comparison.

Shoddy is still there.
I would listen to him butcher 'Continental' over and over again on The Weekly Show.

I made it thru about 10 min of the first CT Weekly Show without Caley and had to shut it off, then unsubscribe. It was just unlistenable.

The Placeholder Podcast, that's a great listen.

Yeah, I listened to that first one with Abby hosting where they talk about how it's clearly a different vibe at the company. Kit and Jonny just don't hold my attention.

I hope they open up these abandoned positions soon, lots of great writers and content creators out there hungry for a chance.

Is the Nerd Alert podcast going to continue?? No new episode posted post house-cleaning. Nerd Alert is a really unique piece of honest and critical journalism in the cycling world. If Outdoor/CT can't or won't continue Nerd Alert then it decided to become another Bicycling Magazine mouth piece for the industry to publish its press releases.

James said in the mean time it won't be continuing.

That was the only CT podcast I listened to.

Hopefully the Placeholder gets a strong foothold.

Yeah the Nerd alert was my favorite as well, and James was my favorite one on that pod

Well, with all of the additional people who have resigned, it will be interesting to see comes next from the former CT crew.

Yeah, it's sad but I am hopeful.

CT had been a 'constant' for me in my cycling journey, I was a fan back when it was Wade's blog... I'm pretty sure I remember it being on blogspot. I even remember seeing Wade walking around at the TDU in the early '10's and being utterly starstruck, ha!

I feel like something will come from the ashes. Too much talent and that passion in that group for it to fizzle. Just hope they can work out a way to make it pay their bills.

And CyclingNews needs a "duplicate word" editing function on their headlines today:

*Movistar spotted testing prototype Sram shifters
*New Roval aero cockpit spotted at QuickStep winter training camp
*Mark Cavendish, Cees Bol spotted in Spain ahead of Astana move

I find most job descriptions to be rather cringey, but this one is awful in particular. I've worked in the journalism, content generation, online world and this is at least three jobs and a massive recipe for fast burnout. CyclingTips was the first and only cycling news/info site that I paid for. What Outside has done to it is just awful.

A hub for lifestyle enthusiasts.

possess a video-first mindset

be able to sense the difference that 0.25 degree change in head angle can have on a bikes’ performance

travel the world

this editor must also be stoked on all types of bikes

assist in planning, creating, and orchestrating all gear coverage

Take excellent still photography of products

Operate a WordPress content management system

Represent Outside as an ambassador for all our brands

Boundless energy, intense curiosity, and creativity

$45k-86k is like 2-4x the expected salary for a J-school degree with that level of experience. It’s not a high paying field, candidate quality is very poor. About the same as teachers and education MS.
