Sram Warranty (ETAP 11 RD) Question
Seems as if my long laboring ETAP 11 RD has finally achieved its telos and is a victim of the classic shift error (light blinks, hangar doesn't move. Eventually, maybe, moves and rolls through the cassette). I'm not the original owner and tbh i don't know where to start if I need to make, if its possible to make a warranty request). Has anyone been through the same situation? And any recommendations for a good repair shop in brooklyn?
Things are just piling up this week, yesterday my catalytic cracked! Today my RD. |

Good luck! Maybe you’ll get lucky and SRAM will send you the updated RD.

We've recently had basically every warranty denied on 11s etap. It's just too old at this point.
Sram is usually really generous with warranties, but maybe a fraction of a percent of etap groups in the wild are actually still covered under warranty and they're closing that door. While it's super expensive, the updated rear derailleur is actually really nice. |

As above, I think you know the answer.

What is the updated RD? I assume this works with the etap 11 speed Shifters?

https://www.sram.com/en/sram/models/rd-red-e-a2 But you CAN make the new 11s eTap RD work with 12s shifters, just that the RD will still only be 11s https://support.sram.com/hc/en-us/ar...r-derailleurs- |

People here give sram a hard time but its pretty cool that they updated the 11 speed derailleurs and not just let early adopters of etap SOL.

Luckily my catalytic was not actually broken and neither was the RD. actually was swapping out an A2 ETAP 11 RD to use it on a new 1x build and though it seemed sort of problematic yesterday, worked flawlessly for about 2 hours today on the road.
