Campagnolo WTO ULTRA is here! Now empty your wallets!
I, for one, was waiting for this one. No, it will not make me faster. But I still want it.

the writing was on the wall. it was a slow train coming etc etc etc
the rim brake is truly dead when the ULTRAs are no longer make for rim brakes. Now let me go and build up a rim brake bike. Quote:

Damn you Campy! I don’t own a disc road frame but, somehow, I have to have the 33s. Maybe I’ll run them on my gravel bike...

The new Zipp 353 NSWs are $4k a pair, and the press release makes it seem like you have to buy the Campy FH bodies separately. Which is strange!! And I don’t think the bearings are ceramic.

Be curious to see how quickly someone swaps the CULT bearings into a standard WTO wheel.

Depends on how soon I can order the bearings.

No, your money isn’t safe. You need a set of WTOs. The WTO 33 rim brake wheels are fantastic; I don’t know how these could be Ultra’d and still be real. Go ahead and buy some. You’re welcome. *It makes me a bit sad that there isn’t a tubby WTO. |

Saw these in my email inbox this morning (Campy Marketing Mail)
Beautiful as always with Campy Carbon Wheels But I only ever bought one set (Hyperons) in 2005 They were great but just didn't like the braking & I guess ultimately that is why the disc brakes came I know folks say...."never say never" but...afaik I am never going disc & probably never going back to carbon (Wheels or Bike) So I guess my wallet was always safe hahah |

Either I’m old fashion or just plain old but I like fixing my own stuff with minimum of complications.
Can’t see any real good reason for disc brakes on a road bike (but do have them on mtb). Even with carbon wheels, with decent brake pads, never been much of an issue stopping wet or dry just have to anticipate. And despite the move to electronic groups, still loving my mechanicals that I can fully service at home. |

Their internal nipple solution seems interesting. Curious about how well it works in the real world, seems like a potential issue for owners.
