That is an awesome story. I'm glad they kept up their spirit, even through cancellations and quarantines. Having a training partner is invaluable

From a personal trainer's perspective, they've unlocked the secret. "Exercise is like taking an antidepressant," Patricia says. "I always say, 'It’s like I took my happy pill." After over a decade as a trainer, I'm fortunate enough to have a good stable of long-term clients. But it was very frustrating when I first started. I had to constantly reinvent the wheel. Explaining to people with a limited narrative of moving for pleasure was very daunting. "You have to learn to love movement" I would say. "But I want to be skinny" they would respond. "I understand that. But, in order to have long-term success you have to find something that you like doing so that it's not really "exercise." "Well, how long to do I have to do this stuff for." And so on. Really makes me happy to read about people who have figured out how to enjoy moving well into their Autumn years. |
