First congrats and hope you love your new bike. having saved and sold less important things to get mine, it was worth it. Love the orange, can't wait to see a pic of it.

You have a bike that is so many people's dream bike it should temper the new house killing the dream bike dream.

My only qualm with a Baum is the painted seatpost. I dont get them. Just get an ISP if you want the look or be at peace with a black or silver or ti coloured standard post.

It seems pointless to paint a seatpost (to me)

It is purely aesthetics, no different than painting the stem. I get it's not for everyone, but I like the look. I even considered having the bars painted but in the end decided to leave the bars stock. I guess that is one of the nice things about going custom is you have many options to choose from so the bike turns out just the way you like it.

Wheel choice will be Hed C2 Tubular rims, Sapim CX-Ray spokes - 24 x 2 (silver), DT Swiss nipples - Brass (silver), Chris King R45 Hubs (silver). It seems like so many of the new wheels these days have black hubs and spokes so I thought I would go a bit old school.

I am planning to run Veloflex Vlaanderen Tyres (27s). I have been running Arenbergs 25s for a while and have been quite happy with them but I am keen to try something with a bit more volume for increased comfort and traction.

I’ve not tried the Arenbergs but Vlaanderens are pretty awesome. I think you will like em.

That’s a great wheel choice. Identical to my day to day setup. Probably have over 30,000km or more on them.

Legend has it, it's called "Baum" because when it rides past you go....

"BAUM BAUM"...... <queue Ferris Beuller>

Anyway. I live in Melbourne, about an hour from the Baum factory. Really should get out there some day.

I highly recommend a trip out to Geelong for a look. Nice people, nice bikes, and a very interesting way to spend a few hours if your curious to see all the details that go into making a custom bike.
And good coffee as well!!!!

I will just substitute the Teal in this pic with duck egg blue. I will also exchange the white for more ORANGE!
