Way OT: Ear plugs to sleep in
I have a cat. His name is Jack. Jack is 18 years old and I've had him for 17 years.
Jack likes to meow and cry at between 5am and 6am every damn morning. He is incredibly lovable and in perfect health. I need some great ear plugs to help sleep through the noise. Recommendations? |

i would never be able to sleep in ear plugs all night.
consider a white noise machine. they are a godsend for me.

Does he do it because he wants his breakfast? My 19 year old Nyx often wakes me up for that reason. (one of the drawbacks of having a cat that prefers canned food instead of dry food)

3M model 1100 work the best for me.
After many years of living in an urban setting and sleeping with earplugs due to significant street noise, I moved to the suburbs and expected to ditch the earplugs. No luck, all the cursed nature sounds (birds chirping, water dripping, coyotes howling, turkeys gobbling, crows squawking) kept me awake just as much as the 530am garbage truck or city bus. Back to earplugs! The 3M 1100's are the best. |

I'm sure this is a very useful machine but could they have made it any uglier?
I'd rather be up all night then have to look at this thing. |

Embrace the cat. He knows what's good for you.
Go to sleep earlier. Get up with Jack. Seriously...

You can wear them, but you'll still wake up. You may not hear the trash truck, or the neighbors dog, or other things, but you'll hear Jack. |

Go to your local drugstore and try one of the many inexpensive foam earplug options they offer. The decibel level will drop, but you will still be able to hear noises. Use in conjunction with a white noise machine or a room fan.
