Sidi Wire wearers: do they stretch?

Hello fellow Sidi brethren. I have a set of Wires that I picked up not too long ago and they are a bit tight in the toebox. My various Sidis over the past 30 years have stretched somewhat to conform to my toes, but I am worried that with this upper material they won't do that. Any experience from the group?
Thanks in advance.

My impression with several modern SIDI's including Wires is that the shoes don't stretch so much as begin to conform to my overall foot. It seems that as the shoe gets used to my foot, my foot moves back a little in the shoe when fully strapped in.

These changes are slight. I would be a somewhat concerned with a too-tight toe box when starting out.

Thanks, guys.
I'm afraid I may be stuck in my S–pros for a long time. They just won't die…

They should break in over not too long a time. Do you notice a difference in how they feel at the beginning of a ride and at the end?

I wear the Sidi Shot shoe. Amazingly, what felt slightly too big after a short break-in period, now feels exactly right. It's like they're alive!

YesNdeed,
I don't know since I have only tried them on, not tried riding with them. Being a diehard Sidi user, I will give them a shot.

Sidi Wires won't stretch in the toe box. The construction of the shoe overlaps a lot of material in that area. Sounds like you need a .5 size up.

Be careful going .5 up. The toe box does not get bigger. In fact, I have a pair of 42's and 42.5's of the same shoe and I can not tell the difference between them in any way. The way to get a wider toe box is to go with the mega width in the same size shoe.

What my friend said specifically abut his Wire's is that they feel tight the first 15-30 minutes of a ride, then they feel just right. He tried 3 pairs before committing to his size.

This is the part that is very perplexing: do I ride in the shoes to see if they work out, rendering them unreturnable? Or do I just return them now? You can imagine how I felt when I thought mine were too big.

I tried a few other brands of shoes a couple years ago only to come running back to Sidi. I know many people here like other shoes just as well, if not more, but for me, there is only one shoe. Spending the extra money on a pair of Shots was well worth it. I guess I'm a die hard too.

My experience with a 44/44.5 - I feel my foot shrinks when I start riding. I’ve packed them with s built up shoe tree, they slightly stretched but went back. The mega are ridiculous-

With Sidi Wire, they use the exact same carbon sole in the half size, they just attach a 5mm bigger upper to this sole. SSLO says his are "a bit tight in the toe box", might be worth a try.

I have found that the older Lorica uppers with a matte finish used to stretch a bit (e.g., the Ergo 1s), but when Sidi started using the glossy Vernice version of the Lorica uppers, the material didn’t stretch at all. About a year or so ago I did some research to see if anyone had a technique for stretching Wires, and concluded that shoe stretchers with the knobs etc. wouldn’t stretch the material.

Thank you all for the amazing depth of replies. This gives me a very good idea that I should perhaps give them a shot for a ride or two then offer them out for the community if they don't work.

I've had no success with Wire or Shot stretching just that little bit extra in the toe.
