Updates on Campagnolo disc brakes and calipers
Campagnolo sent over a bunch of info about their disc brakes. And I know there have been some questions especially since EKAR uses a red fluid vs the original Royal Blood by Magura. Hopefully these docs help people understand the differences in the brakes and the whatnot.

As is common with Campagnolo these last few decades(since 1992-3 ), great design, well tested and running changes that make a great piece of gear even better..instead of using the consumer to 'beta test'...yes, yes, I DO have a Campagnolo tattoo..yes, Campagnolo fan boy....

The new Calipers look simpler with less machining and therefore heavier.
My question is - Can you use the new fluid in the old Calipers? I'm building up an EKAR bike soon and I have an extra set of old 160/160 Calipers around that I am going to use so I don't have to use Adaptors. I like the look better. I'll use the new brake pads. What fluid can/should I use? |

Yes - 3g is not a lot - however the new ones just look cheaper. I don't like them as much as the old ones.

I wonder if my Campagnolo SGR pedals are disc brake compatible. I have one in a sock to use as a weapon, but maybe I could use them again.

Honestly, I don't know yet. And no one has told me. I haven't had the need to fully bleed and use the Campy Blood fluid in an older system. I would ASSuMe it will work. But I haven't had the chance/need to try it. |

I’m currently running a mix of the new (red) fluid with the “old” Magura Royal Blood (blue) in my rear caliper on an Ekar system and it seems to be fine. |

But the important question is "what color did you come up with?" Sounds like the beginning of a new thread "what color brake fluid goes with my bike's graphics.
