And disagree it's the WWE of bike biz. Manufacturer's have used the european pro pelOton for new product testing, then intro for a long time.. BUT way interesting lineup. https://cyclingtips.com/2018/01/bikes-2018-worldtour/

I have never looked at a bike where the seat stays attach only halfway up the seat tube and thought, "yeah, that looks good."
My favorite is the giant. I just think Giant has figured out how to blend the modern with traditional, without ending up with some monstrosity. I could give up the seat mast and the giant logos on the wheels... but hey, nothing is perfect. Edit: Also, that seat tube water bottle mount looks extremely low. Maybe it's just me, but that looks weird. The cervelo, Factor and Trek look good also. That lapierre is quite something.

the Ridley is my favorite of the group, with the Argon as a second place.

My reaction was Yawn. Maybe they should just issue Specialized bike to all the riders and be done with it.
As an aside, for the people here who are riding those aero bars, especially the ones without tape on the tops: do you really find the shape comfortable? I am so used to gripping something round; those edges look like they would be painful after a long day in the saddle. |

All of them look pretty good to me. Have to say I'm surprised to be saying that.
The Specialized and BMC frames look identical to me. Only one team on Mavic wheels, and lots on Campy and Shimano. Interesting. Mavic can't be too happy about that. All those bikes are so tiny. Wonder what the average height of a WT rider is these days, and how many are over 6 feet. |

I like that Factor quite a bit.

The FDJ bike is fugly! Lapierre found a way to make it look nastier than the Scott Foil.

Looks like trek is the only one with disc brakes😱

I like the Trek, even with the saddle too far forward. Giant second.
Bianchis should be beautiful in celeste, but they're over-complicating it. The Cannondale has nice lines but that livery looks like a rocket model built by a 9-year-old boy. Dimension Data's Cervelo is just as ugly as their role in the 2017 Tour. |

anyway, these are all hideous. the least of which, to me, is probably the BMC. the frame only has a few logos instead of the requisite 472,000 most other pro bikes have, and the wheels are black-on-black logos. I like all of that. curious, since I don't know a ton about the latest DA di2.... some of these have very clean wiring up front, where you can't see junction box A. are they wiring into the handlebar to the bar plug charger port (assuming that's also a junction box), or something else? I assume you can only use this junction box/charging port option if the bar design allows internal routing, right? |

I enjoyed the old Giant Alpecin bikes over this year's rendition. Something about it just doesn't match the same awesomeness as the previous version.

Pro bikes
I think they are all more or less ok.
But I always say that we get to ride better bikes than the pros. We can pick what we want, ride custom frames etc.. |

haha. first time I've seen it put that way but I like it. in that I believe it's a reference to the racing being all for entertainment, all BS, not to be believed, etc. not a commentary on the bicycles themselves.

Probably. Remember how hideous Giants were when they first introduced mountain-bikes-as-road-bikes? Now, decades down the road, they've become the relatively classic look.
