Velogical rim dynamo vs quality hub dynamo?

I saw two Velogical rim dynamos at PBP this year before the ride, both on bikes belonging to French riders, but the company is German. I've read the company website but am also wondering if anybody has experience with one. How does it compare to a quality hub dynamo, especially in rain, mud, gravel, bumpy pavement, or even single track? How do they perform long term?

Welcome to the Forum.

Owned one for a couple of yrs. Bought it lightly used when it looked like I'd be commuting at night. That never materialized, so I sold it here...

Having never actually mounted it up, all I can say is that it looked and felt of very high quality, nicely engineered.

There's a fair amount of information online about it, including from users.
