Be careful out there

A good friend was hit from behind yesterday afternoon in Carver, MA. Sounds like a distracted driver. She was wearing reflective yellow jersey and had front and rear blinking lights. Hit her so hard she ended up smashing into his windshield. woke up in the ambulance. Now she's in the hospital with a broken pelvis, hip, ribs, tibia, and some L3/4 damage.

Hope her recovery goes well and quickly. It's crazy how many people are on their phones as they pass me.

Sounds like she was 'being careful out there'...

You need to have a bit of luck and some good fortune riding the roads lately.

Jesus that's horrible. Hope she recovers quickly and gets back out there. I get more paranoid about distracted drivers every day.

Amen. It's a sh#t show on the roads. But we all know that and continue to ride. If I die riding a bike at least my wife and kids can feel good about the fact I died doing something I enjoyed. Safe travels to all.

Sounds like my normal outfit and equipment.

I hope she recovers quickly and fully.

Last, I hope the driver is prosecuted and sued. With extreme prejudice.

Hope she has a full and complete recovery and rides again. Should seek an injury attorney so she can sue the socks off the driver.

terrible news, no doubt about it.

unfortunately, the tales of distracted driving are getting more and more frequent. not good for any of us.

i hope your friend makes a full and speedy recovery.

I lucked out but was hit in Lexington about 20 years ago. I was headed straight and a car at a stop did not see me and lunged forward hitting the back of my bike.

Luckily it only nicked my leg and had a ton of layers on (it was winter) and a big back pack with clothes so I kinda just rolled along the road and was unhurt.

I am happy she will be able to tell the story at some point in the future.

So sorry to hear about this. Very frightening. Right down the road from me too. Best wishes for full recovery.
