There are a multitude of inaccuracies however, most I overlooked. But, this one I suspect cane directly from Ben, and is not true:

Serotta began working with titanium in 1993, and, although it had been used as a frame-building material before, it really only became viable for racing bikes after the introduction of Colorado Concept tubing.

Serotta was late to the Ti game, and they did bring the tubing realm up a notch, but, Team Z had already ridden Merlin bikes in the Tour, Subaru/Montgomery had dominated in the States on them, years before Ben decided to go there.

Serotta has been on a bit of a remember me tour for awhile, and I wish him well. Revisionist history in the bike world is sad tho. Small world and many of us were there.

You're spot on: the sentence you quoted is completely untrue.
