Just bought the frameset and had the Whiskey fork from an old build. Rake isn't exactly the same but close enough.

I had John Jones build me a set of WI G25s and CLD hubs. This is the third or fourth set he's built for me. Stand up guy.

The worst part is that with practically zero effort paid to the weight of it, it's lighter than one of my road bikes... Sits at 19.12lbs as shown with pedals, cages, power meter, garmin out front mount, and a big ole' 11-40 cassette...
The bike looks great! Unsurprisingly...

And great tires! I had never paid much thought to Challenge before trying the 36mm Strada - and was amazed! Definitely agree about not feeling like you're giving much up in speed!

I built this bike to be my full-time commuter, and three months later my office went full remote. Hopefully I can get out on some long gravel rides this spring, but I've been mountain biking almost exclusively for the past year.

Beautiful bike! But I’m going to go out on a limb and say that it could use some better “framing.” Unless you’re connected to Pat. In which case, brilliant marketing. 😉

Cracking me up! I suck at pics and no connection to Pat. Thx for the nice words. You and Andy should get commission!

I bought a full suspension MTB recently and started riding my hardtail as a "monster gravel" bike. Dare I say it, I think I like it a little better than my actual gravel bike :-) I can just rip the downhill sections. It also goes uphill pretty well as it only weighs 21.5 lbs, which is about the same as my gravel bike.

Also, Continental Race Kings seem to roll absurdly well, both on and off pavement.

I have been saying for years that the hardtail XC MTB is the new gravel bike.

It is until you have a mixed surface ride and the flat bars suck megaballs but that’s just me. For fully off road rides though yeah a light xc mtb puts a gravel bike to shame.
