Old-school cantis? Yeah, takes some finger force. New-school mini-Vs or hybrids like the RevoX? Not nearly as much Quote:
Note: I don't particularly think that road discs are all that and a bag o chips, just that I want all the wheels to fit all the bikes M |

I just get tired of seeing people imply that someone is a moron if they don't choose discs over rim brakes.

I feel like I get more crap stuck in the brake with discs...especially in rain/mud. Overall, they're brakes. It isn't a must have for me, it isn't a can't have. I doubt I'd make a bike choice, riding or buying, based on this. |

These are the ones I use for gravel most often...depending on the ride, my mood, their repair status...

Me too, and it's awesome.
However, I think it's probably a fair point that most people "riding gravel" end up on whatever Diverge or Checkpoint or Vaya their LBS puts them on, and they don't modify much from that stock bike other than maybe a saddle. Picking out every component on your bike with thoughtfulness is common here, but niche for most of the cycling world. |

Frame is a 90s Litespeed. That bike may look stupid, but it's actually a GREAT city ride. |
