Neat, but why? Just curious. Haven't met anyone who swapped out the Road+ fork for something with different geo. Did you ride the stock fork at all for comparison?

Honestly, I just liked the aesthetics better. That’s all. I’ll give the stock fork a go at some point, too.

To elaborate further, I was kind of thinking I’d fender up the stock fork for the winter months and ride that with 650b wheels. That’s been my winter setup for a couple years, albeit on different frames.

My new Lynskey Race GR

Force/AXS Mullet build with Lauf Grit SL fork and FLO G700 wheels.
It took some time to gather build kit, but it’s together.
BBDave took photos during the inaugural ride

Thanks! I have been fawning over this one ever since I saw it! When I picked up Steve’s MRB a couple of years ago I thought to myself what could he be replacing such a fine bike with? When he posted this one up I realized why!

Off the charts craftsmanship and such a well thought out bike. Likely going to get most of my ride time for the next season and may make the cut to a multi season ride.

That looks like a blast! How was your initial ride with the Lauf?

The ride was short but good. I didn’t particularly feel the fork, which is a good thing. The bike does feel smooth with the fat rubber, Lauf fork and Lauf Smoothie bars. The biggest thing I noticed was the flared bars. I was a sceptic of flared bars initially, and the Lauf bars don’t have a huge amount of flare: 16 degrees. But they felt great, especially when riding on the hoods.

Those bars are good, aren't they! The Lauf fork/hbar combo is terrific.

Neat, thanks. I actually just realized you're running 700c. What size tire? I just picked up a 700c wheelset with some 32mm gravel king slicks for mine. Been running the typical 650b x 48 RH Switchback Hills for the past year.

I really like them so far. They are super comfortable. I ride deep drops on the road, but these shallower drops make sense on a gravel bike. Hard to tell about shock absorption with the fork and 40c tires, but everything feels really good.

The fork is subtle, but it makes a huge difference over the long haul. Getting back on a rigid fork will offer a stark comparison.
