Campagnolo 9-speed RD, 10s cassette, 10s ergos?
Will this combo work well together?

As usual, the answer is "it depends".
If the rear derailleur is a 2nd generation 9spd derailleur, it will work perfectly. If it is a 1st generation 9spd derailleur, then it may not work as well. 10spd derailleurs had a different geometry than the original 9spd derailleurs, but as soon as 10spd was released, 9spd derailleurs adopted the 10spd geometry. 2nd generation 9spd derailleurs can be distinguished by the dome shape of the B knuckle: |

its a racing triple RD

Racing triples were made in both 1st generation and 2nd generation models (also distinguishable by the domed B knuckle), so the above still applies.

gotcha
thanks for the info i presume the b knuckle is the part on the right side of the parallelogram in that picture, that has the dome shape to it |

Oops! I mistakenly said the 2nd generation derailleurs have a domed B knuckle - they actually have a domed A knuckle.
Modern derailleurs have 2 knuckles - the A knuckle, which connects the cage pivot to the parallelogram, and the B knuckle, with connects the hanger pivot to the parallogram. On 2nd generation Campagnolo 9spd derailleurs, the lower knuckle with the cage pivot (the A knuckle) has a domed shape. These derailleurs also have a pivot spring tension adjustment bolt at the joint between the knuckle and the cage. |

Broadly, yes, as Mark McM says - second version fine, 1st version, no the cable pull to RD movement is wrong.
Basically, if the RD has a "B-Screw" then no, that's a 1st version. One other element to be marginally aware of is that you'll need to run a 10s chain. Most of the time it's fine (99.9% of the time ...) but occasionally we've seen issues with the chain jamming between the lower jockey and the jockey cage, if the bushings on the jockey wheels get very worn - it's less of a problem with dedicated 10s RDs as the cage is a slightly different shape at the entry point of the chain idler run. |

it'll work fine -- i mix 8spd and 9spd rear mechs with 10spd shifters all the time.

On a bike with Campy Triple ten speed (30-42-50), Centaur 10's Ultrashift), 10's chain, I use a late 9's med cage rear derailleur with 12-30 cassette. Little to little is a little sloppy (how I set it up, so big to big would make the shift if accidently done), rest of drivetrain shifts great! Little beyond what a 9's med cage is advertised to wrap, but it does. Believe Racing Triple is just a med cage. (certainly not a long cage)
