I wouldn't switch to the red unless it was the SAME red as the paint on your bike. Otherwise the red will look out of place compared to other red.
Thank you sasquatch16v. I don’t hate the black hs either but with the black hs top cap, I felt like it was out of place when I look at the stem area. SV didn’t want to paint the top cap so I didn’t push it. For me, the red hs, spacers, and top cap will be more in place than the black, even if the shade is not 100%. Not to say the black is out of place.

For the tape, I had plans to run the black and pink Rapha Brevet tape at first but considering how colorful the saddle came out, the black tape will be out of place. I will keep this tape for the Busyman leather saddle in f / when this saddle gives me issues. For the project with this SV painted saddle, I have selected the pink Fizik Superlite bar tape.

I don't mind the black headset since you have the all black wheels then some black in the pump and seat mast hardware.

How about a Red Chris King top cap and Red bar tape since you have the red on the seat stays under the blue pok a dots?

I did consider getting just a red CK top cap but opted against it because the drapes wouldn't match the carpet. I didn't want to go red bar tape because I feel the red is more of an accent paint rather than a main color.

Thank you Toddtwenty2. Not sure why I am wired this way. Thank you for noticing the details and stating this is a well-considered project. Executing my vision is difficult at times because things change; it's fluid.

Thank you Hilltoperny. I am ashamed to say I haven't even ridden the SV SL with the Overt paint yet. It was finished a few months ago. Been lazy about taking pictures of it before its first ride. The OG-1 is all steel, the Overt SL is steel with carbon seat tube mast, and this one is full ti. I LOVE my stock OG-1 so I can't imagine how much better things can get. I'll keep you posted.

But IMO what would really set it off looking at all the many black accents in the bike's full profile pic are the Silca Sicuro Cage - Black Cerokote Edition. And, because of your style I would copy No22 style and put subtle thin pink stripes or stripes with a mix of all the colors in the bike on the top of the cage..
I have 7 years experience with painting using stencils with a retail arts & craft business. I can appreciate the amount of masking, taping, weeding, etc. when it comes to a detailed, layered paint scheme AND how certain colors really come together on the project when they don't make any sense on paper. Yes, mad respect and props to artists who do it well. It's magical actually. The group will be SR12 mechanical. I will leave the cages for now but may pick it up later. I like the subtle No. 22 bands.

Thank you veyr much Turkle. It's labor of love. Spent almost 6 hours measuring and custom cutting the paint protection film. All part of the build process.

Sorry I’m slow to respond I think this is spot on. I would go w/ black.

Custom saddle - Busyman Bicycles

Mick Peel at Busyman Bicycles is working his magic on the saddle painted by Oliver Cleveland of Dark Mater Finishing. We exchanged a few design ideas and landed on something very similar to the original SV painted saddle, which came out beyond my wildest dreams. I am expecting nothing less from Mick’s contribution to this project. Here is a preview of the design. Embossed SV shield with cyan, dark pink, blossom pink, and vermillion perforations.

Black cages, black tape, black saddle. You have enough color and pattern going already. Sometimes less is more.

100% this. The black will provide contrast and help those colors pop.

Thank you sheepdog84 for the input. I have the black tape now and will have the black saddle soon as back-up if / when I get tired of the painted saddle and pink tape.

Thanks lunardds for the input. Most of my other bikes have black tape and saddle. Figured I would push it bit with this project just to have some fun and add a bit of color into the stable. I see that you are in Houston. I will PM you my cell phone. Let’s connect for a ride soon.

I believe they are Carbonsports skewers that SV had their logo laser etched.

Agree…the painted saddle is overkill with everything else.

It’s like Willy Wonka was let loose with a spray gun…

My twin got a saddle painted years ago and I thought it was a nice touch. Oh well, I’m happy with this painted saddle. All good. Cheers.

Looks amazing. Like properly amazing. Nicely done. I think the black headset works but the red could look pretty neat picking up on the red on the frame. Oh and I’d seriously consider having the front hub painted blue and the rear hub painted pink to match…
