Reducing GoPro shake

Been wanting to reduce vibration and shake from gopro footage. Currently I have a gopro 4 mounted on my Bell Sixer helmet. How have you all been able to deal with video shake while riding? Was considering getting a handlebar/stemtop mount possibly..

i wear a small gyroscope with chest mount on the mtb. its very light and works great. wont like it if you have to have your jersey fully open tho. i use a stuntman chest mount

the newer gopros have better onboard stabilization software might want to look into an upgrade

Upgrade to a 7 or 8. Stabilization is far better in the newer models.

GoPro has been running $100 off promotions pretty regularly. And if your 4 is in good shape, you should be able to get $100 (or more) for it...

Hero 8 Black Bundle is $150 off right now. Costco is a little cheaper at $289.

I don't have a gopro. My camera is an older model Garmin Virb that has been discontinued. However, I have experimented with the different mounting placement including helmet and chest mounts and they both produced more shaky video footage compared to a handlebar or seatpost mount. You might want to try that first, it's cheaper.

I have an 8 and the digital stabilization is pretty impressive. Definitely a great upgrade from the 4.

They also finally figured out the proper mount on the 8.

I thought about moving from the 7 but am going to stick for a while. Moved from a 4 just a year ago...that was huge!

Go-Pro 8

Hi all,

I have an 8 that I mount below by saddle using the go-pro mount for that. I am impressed by the image quality and stability. Very good.

I bought the go pro as my Fly 6 died at year two. It was mounted on my seat post. The Fly 12 is still running like a champ on the front bar.
