Was about to suggest Ritchey as well. They offer several options with your requirements. I have both single and 2 bolt. No issues with either.

I like PMP and WR Compositi better, but they are both 2 bolt designs.

The Ritchey is well priced and should fit your needs.

I think this is more of what you are looking for.

this is the post i have on my Ritchey, which has seen tons of rough road and gravel, so the post and saddle have seen some real bumps. it was easy to set up and has been rock solid for thousands of miles now. set and forget is my experience with this post.

Good suggestion so far, and I will add another one: Kalloy Uno.
Cheap, effective, visually play well with 7400, easy to set up and use. Single bolt. 25 mm setback. Don’t creak. Relatively unobtrusive logo that can be removed with acetone. Usually can be found for $15-$20 depending upon where you shop. I have several on my vintage bikes and they look great. They are 350 mm long, so I usually trim mine down once I find the length I need for a frame to save 9.5g.

1 vote for Zipp SL speed. Simple 1 bolt torx, sleek, light, but can be expensive new. I've raced 2 seasons of cross on mine and not one slip or saddle tilt.

There are new Shimano 640X seatposts out there that are visually identical to DA 7400 aero posts, generally available in 27.2. If you are having a hard time finding one, let me know I have at least one NIB.

Ditto on the Nitto, both the 83 and the 65 (I think those are the model numbers). Especially good if you need a little more length than the 640X/7400.

Another vote for Nitto. I have a single bolt (s65) on my Mxl. Very nice quality post and looks great. I previously had a Ritchey classic (its 2 bolt, but they are side by side rather than fore/aft so easy adjusting) that was also very nice but the Nitto S65 looks better IMO.

American Classic will fit the 'period' look. Mostly a 1-bolt clamp

Otherwise, look for another old post similar to what you have.

I've used the FSA K-force on every bike I've built up for the last 15 years. It can be had with 25 or 32mm of setback. The 2-bolt rocker style clamp allows for her fine angle adjustments. Never had a problem with one.

Thanks fellow forumites for all of the input. I did Google each and every option recommended (outside of the older posts with which I was familiar). Took a good long time last night to research seat posts (those recommended and others that popped up in my search).

I have narrowed my choices to either the Paul Tall & Handsome (98% sure that I'm going with this) or the Nitto S65. I'm also taking a gander at one used option.

The Paul post looks to be simple and durable, with a good amount of setback (26mm) and comes in black, 27.2. I have to confess that I like the kitsch factor of a small company working out of basically a pole barn. I can also get the post easily via one of two local shops. I don't love the two bolt clamp but in this case the bolts look very easy to access, which is a huge plus.

Thank you all again for your time. I received a lot of options that I never would have thought of myself.
