watched this series yesterday.

was ok, showed some serious dysfunction within the team. but, sure that's not unique to Movistar.

have sympathy for the riders, not sure I would tolerate some manager yelling in my ear for hours at a time tho...

I watched all six. Better if they could have finished it in four

I found it funny that whenever someone wanted to ignore the team direction...they would remove the earpiece and say there was a communication problem.
Very dysfunctional team. It has been apparent for some time but it’s really something to see it first hand.

Didn't realize Carapaz grew up on a farm. I watched a couple of episodes with non-cycling friends. They were very bored.

Clarification!

When I said “I’m pretty well versed in Moviestar” I was referring to knowing what was shown on broadcasts, talked about by commentators and written in the press, but certainly learned much from watching the series. My point was even though I had a good background knowledge, the series at times jumped around so much I found it a little confusing and wondered how the casual or non-cycling fan would find it.

Finished the series and certainly enjoyed it. At times seemed like some serious product placement, Fizik sure was repeatedly spotlighted.

I’d say the Cyclingtips review was spot on. Good series

but I adore all Latin riders
Italian and Spanish and South American
And always liked Contador and Valverde especially

not specific to Movistar, but they missed the episode on doping. again, don't be fooled, it's all about entertainment folks.

well, yeah, that's what all sports are...entertainment.

but, the professional versions have the aspect of money infused to the degree where it's strictly a business venture. sponsors, contracts, salaries, tv rights come way before the quaint concept of sportsmanship.

and because of the money, there's cheating involved. signal stealing, doping, deflated balls, corked bats, ad nauseum.

some spectators might overlook the obvious warts and feel like their team is really trying to be the best and win in pursuit of athletic purity, but it ain't so, Joe.

Fake signal loss is a classic move. “Cchhhccchh ... you’re breaking up ... cchhcchhhchh ... can’t hear you ...”

That means being very very poor. Seems Nairo had also a very poor upbringing. Social inequality in Latin America is huge.

Btw... road riding is boring even for us cyclists. A track event is way more exciting than a road race.

sounds like a decent enough series, thanks for all the reviews. I'll watch a couple episodes tonight. procycling can get so dehumanizing, not so far off from horse racing ATMO

Wife and I just finished watching this morning, here are my quick thoughts. 1) I didn’t like Nairo before this, I still don’t like him. 2) I came away liking Landa more than I had before/expected to. 3) I’m surprised to see Valverde not have more of a mentoring role on the team. 4) I feel like it provided a little better insight I to the Movistar motive as to what Movistar was trying to do with the team and why it didn’t pan out.
