how about an Eroica stage in next years tour? And we thought the bike switch was novel.

If Roglic was indeed their best option, all things considered, it was only a matter of time.
Roglic was their strongest. Kruijswiek was not left off the team. He was injured in a crash at the Daphne.

Yes, and me thinks there’s another reason to him not having “power” on final TT.

You mean power meter? I too was wondering about that, no meter means no interesting data.
OTH, it could also have been a weight saving measure.

I don't think they were 'stupid', just could have been smarter. When Tadej lost, then gained back time on back to back days, that should have served notice that 'defending' the time diff may not be enough. Doumalin was the obvious choice to send on attacks as he was still sitting top 5 on stage 7 and a real threat whose moves would need to be covered. Instead he was put on the front trading work with Wout.

Yes please, but an unsupported stage. Riders to carry everything they would need. No team cars. No radios. An homage to the past, and a tip to this new epoch of cycling. A short stage. 100km max. Gravel bikes only. Backpacks and hydration bladders allowed. ASO needs to get with it.

Really? I would be ok with gravel sections, but don't need to see half the GC contenders taken out by a flat. And I don't need to see these guys with hydration packs on either. There are plenty of events for that. The Tour is the Tour. I don't understand why people think that power meters and radios are having that big of an impact on results. Roglic had a power meter, and a DS in his ear telling him he was losing time, but couldn't do anything about it. You still have to ride the bike.

The Tour was once the Tour, and then it became what we know it to be today. That's a process of change over time, and it should continue. Just one stage :-).

I thought tubeless sealant stopped flats.

No power meters for the L'Eroica stage.

Yep. UAE must have a secret sauce, a blend of dates and camel milk.

And so did Porte, Landa, Quintana and Roglič according to that article.
