I've never been accused of being a fashion expert, but I'd go very light on red accents. A little can be good, too much can look terrible.

Maybe red cable tips if they don't clash too much, Deda Superleggero seatpost that has a hint of red (or similar), black tape with red stitching if you can find some, tan wall tires for sure, maybe a gold chain.

OR

Forget about the red and pick a third color that would go with black and red and add a few accents with that instead.

So this is the frame i will do the same with. Plasti dip away the inside of the form and some of the yellow accents on the rear triangle. Don't think i will get around to it till next week but ill update .)
Think it will look a bit more focused that way and the tan tires help to not make it to boring when all else is black.

Buy some new sunglasses, maybe a new helmet. Loose 10 pounds and go ride in the rain. Fashy enough!!!

Had not thought of plasti-dip stuff. I have used that several times and not too permanent.

Excellent

You could paint it an attractive color for the most obvious improvement.

What is it with flat black? Is this not over done by thousands of times? Can it be over now, please?

When I first got it, different tires and saddle. Better I think, but still...not sure what it is.

You mentioned that there is nothing great or bad about the bike. Without passion for the bike, I would limit how much money I would put into it as it may never really make you happy to own or ride it. Cinelli makes some funky black and white bar tape with skulls and other whimsical graphics that I use on a black bike. Possibly, a white or black/white saddle. White sidewall tires and white bottle cages are a possibility too. By the time you make the changes you are willing to do, would you have been better off swapping frames for one that rides great and speaks to you cosmetically?

Perhaps let history be your guide? Pick it up with silver accents and gum-walls.

Did u ever get around to plasti dip your bike?

I decided to keep bit of accents color inside the fork but blacked out the rear end yellow. Looks pretty good but not perfect up close.

I can live with it. Bike is awesome ;-)

Bah pic wont upload. Later

Gum wall side tires will lighten the look of bike. Red and black is heavy.
If you want to be seen on the road, add some yellow: black and yellow make all attention/ achtung/ safety signs.
