Is there an advantage or disadvantage of doing it this time of year versus June/July? Is she following all the "rules"? That's been a source of some crazy stuff

A little more credit needs to be thrown in the direction of Alexandera Houchin (who won 2x on a single speed, jorts, work boots and no entourage). Alexandera has a very compelling story that seems to get diminished by someone with a better, IG focused marketing plan

Lael is a talent, no doubt. But the Indy 500 is won on memorial day weekend, not on a random track day in October. Competition with others changes things

Houchin and Wilcox can both be celebrated, one's accomplishment doesn't diminish the other's. Wilcox has done plenty at the GDMBR. Attempting a FKT is different than racing from Banff, nothing wrong with targeting your attempt to a time that fits best with your prep and schedule.

I like her statement on "suffering." People and brands throw that term around so much it is nauseating.
