Challenge Strada Biancha TLR not sitting correctly
Got these damn challenge tires, the 36mm ones. Tubeless. Trying to even just get the tire sitted properly. I hear the bead pop and on one side the bead looks good, bead line is nice and pararel to the rim, on the other side, no bead line at all. The thing is, the bead is on the tire, it pops in the tire it just does not show at all.
The rim is brand new, a reynolds AR41. The same thing happens on front and back so I don't think its the rims fault. the good side bad side? I have gone to the max pressure recommended by the tire (75psi) and this is what happens everytime. Also put baby power, same exact thing. |

A little soapy water or chain lube around the bead. Or-- let them sit mounted for a while just like that then try again. Your LBS might have a tire wranger to help seat it.

both tires do this. I tried the tire on a different rim and its similar (although on that rim its a bit better, still a lot of the areas on one side are not right). I will let them sit for a while and see if I can get it to work. |

Manufacturing variation?
I feel like mine did this too. |

I threw those tires away after a couple months. never liked the way they rode i-on the wheels I had.
I just rode them knowing they were seated if if they didn't look that way. |

thats the thing, they are brand new, and they were not cheap. If they are crap and this is some qc thing, I will see what bike tires direct can do about taking them back.

Is there any wobble at all when you spin them?
Does the tread look centered? Have you tried reversing the tire to see if lower bead occurs on the same side as before? |

Throw a tube in there and see how it looks.

Well, that should be another test - to try tubeless.

I have a slightly older set of the same wheels and I've not had any luck setting them up tubeless. Even let the LBS try and they couldn't get them to hold the bead. If you find a set of tires that work on those wheels please let us know.

I will also offer that the tread started peeling off in about ten days.
