Calling all PL color guru's

Backstory:
Bought a frame in need of a repaint.
Bought a never used carbon fork in a stunning color.

Question is what color to paint the frame, I am not a fan of black or white. I also suck at coordinating colors. How about purple?

Fork color: It is the Alpha Q

Paint both the frame and form the color of your choice.

That is a cool color. But yeah, if you are getting a whole frame repainted, just toss the fork in and call it a match.
You could then get a fade or splatter or crinkle or anything else that was awesome 30years ago and has slowly come back.

If you really want the fork to stay that color- a darg evergreen with sparkle or a dark blue with silver undertones could be cool.

Should have mentioned 99% certain I am going with powder coat, no option locally to paint the fork.

Cream frame with fork's red outlined white lettering on downtube.

I'd ride that fork before investing in fame paint matching. Even with standard stiffness steerer those are pretty brutal IMO. Both me and a friend took then off for Look HSCs around 3 seasons after new custom frame using them back when.

Orange or light blue.

(If white, black, or cream aren't options.)

I agree

My wife has that color frame "Burnt Red Orange" & it has Orange as a counter color for lettering etc

Also if you google what colors go with Burnt Red Orange
they show charts & your right they list blue too

metallic dark blue or royal blue
metallic dark gray

with appropriate similarly red-orange other accents on the small bits and accessories (if possible)

But I'm not a color expert, just my opinion.

Any of the powder coating shops I’ve worked with have color samples they’re comfortable of creating in house, and most of them don’t mind creating a few samples of colors they may not have. Especially if you’re not looking for a fast turn around. They can also offer suggestions for a color.

I had a fade done years ago and the place that showed me the color samples on scrap tubes instead of flat sheet metal is who I went with in the end. I think the shop also just wanted to have the samples for later since he hadn’t dealt with the product color combo I was requesting.

Somehow I’m leaning towards gold flake with that red, but I don’t like red, so I’d change the fork color or get a different one. Good luck!

not going to suggest any specific color, but keep in mind what saddle / bar tape options are going to play nicely with whatever you pick.
