Ee brakes might be expensive, as far as brakes go, but I am completely confident Cane Creek would sell a greater quantity if they were cheaper.

I must say this colour combination is rather appalling to my eyes.

I have a pair of Gen 4's purchased from a fellow forum member, and they're fantastic. A little finicky to get set up and centered, but as far as stopping power....just superb. And they are just so darned light! Easy to adjust as well.

I'm working on another build and will likely look for another pair, because am trying to shave down weight where reasonable.

Not cheap if new, but....if you can find a gently used version for a good price, they're terrific value.

As for tire clearance, that's entirely dependent upon the frame design (fork crown and brake bridge). I run mine on older frames and depending on the wheel, can't get any more than a 25 which for me is just fine. I don't use big tires.
