Tom Boonen invited to test Colnago V4Rs after criticism of Tadej Pogačar's bike

Don't know if you guys saw the criticism from Tom Boonen of Tadej Pogačar's Colnago, but Colnago has responded and invited Tom to ride the V4Rs.

Here is the article...

Their counterclaim says they've “not heard a single complaint” from either UAE Team Emirates or UAE Team ADQ relating to the bikes supplied to both....but that's not what Tommeke was suggesting.

Other bike brands have radically embraced aero for marginal gains and Colnago just hasn't. Of course their white paper supports their claims....other bikes may be more aero, but remember "it's not about the bike"

As someone who deals exclusively with the Imperial System of measurement, 2 KPH doesn't make any difference.

I don't claim to know all the facts, but it seems hard to find fault with Pog's results. Doesn't appear to me that the bike is holding him back.

That was my thought as well. Maybe some of the others should avail themselves of the same handicap that Pogacar has been saddled with…

2kph slower? that is hard to believe but I guess possible. I suspect the aero modeling people are doing aren't real world enough

If Ineos are reading this, I believe Pinarellos are rubbish. I'm available for a public conversation and to test ride their bike at MSR so they can prove me wrong

Colnago's ad claims . . .

. . ."fastest aero bike in the world" or similar are just marketing puffery BS with no supporting research. Now they are inviting these guys to ride to try to salvage a bad PR situation.

They should give Pog their steel ElOS bike and have him win on that just to mess with everyone...

If I were a Pro Tour carbon guy, the Colnagos would likely be the top of my list. Even with 1.2 mph slower, I wouldn't care.
