I'm interested to know how many members are running road tubeless tires up to 32mm ?

Well fella. You forgot to set up the poll.
I'm in the "no"(thank you) column. And by "road" I assume you mean <=28?

Yup. I converted about 2 years ago, after getting 3 flats in one ride, of the kind that would have been avoided with tubeless.

Road should include at least up to 32mm and perhaps 34 since Pirelli P-zero is made that large.

Good point on size, I just edited my post to include up to 32mm for this poll.

Though I will say that if I lived in an area with goatheads, then tubeless (or steel belted radials) would have to be employed. But then, I'd only ride a 32 or 35 (with an insert).

People still ride with tubes?
32 Panaracer GK Plus TLE roll great. |

I have too many wheels (that would need periodic maintenance if tubeless) and get so few flats (less than 1 a year on average) that tubeless tires would be more hassle than they are worth.

got some "hand me down" gp5ktl in 32 a few years ago, never looked back, 15k+ miles later, basically no flats and roll really nicely on fast group rides, love 'em.

I'm split based on bikes and tire size. Bigger than 32 I kind of like tubeless, smaller its too much fuss and squirting sealant over 60psi. Latex is the way to go for road.
30mm and under are all rim brake and tubed - Reactor, Fabrica, Bedford with Latex, Great Divide and soon to arrive Kirk with Pirelli SmarTubes, and the soon to depart Look 585 with regular butyl tubes 32mm and up - Hampsten is tubeless Veloflex 32s on HED Ardennes, and I think the same will go on the Serotta Duetti since it's getting the HEDs when the tubeless Zipp 353s go on the Hampsten.. Mosaic has tubeless 650x42 Rene Horse extra lights, and I mostly ride it on the road. |

Tubeless across the board from 700x23 on a road wheelset up to 29x2.6 on the mtb. Plenty of tubeless wheelsets in between as well - 700x35 for cx racing, 700x40 for gravel.
Riding in New England, I've had 1 roadside flat that didn't seal in the last 10 years. I put a tube in that one. I average 6000 - 7000 road miles a year. Very very very pleased with tubeless for the road and off road. |

Yes, 32mm tires set up tubeless on my disc road bikes. I had an issue once last year that could have ended up way worse, but didn’t. Aside from that they have been great in both ride feel and performance.
I have a set of Tubeless 28s that measure closer to 30mm on one of my rim brake road bikes and also like the ride feel and performance. The other rim brake road bike with 25s has tubes. Haven't been out on it yet, but suspect it will ride great without any issues. Sent from my SM-S127DL using Tapatalk Last edited by Hilltopperny; 02-06-2023 at 10:25 AM. |

Big fan of tubeless on MTB and CX. Don't see the need on the road, never had much trouble with flats. Too finicky.
