ot: Tmobile home internet deal

Just hooked it up. Speeds are wobbly but appear to be more than satisfactory for my little house. Just one TV on at a time and my desktop at the same time. Been between 5 and 40 megabits. 20 megabits as I write this.

My customer service person said this deal is $25 per month forever. Fifteen day free trial, no obligation:

https://www.t-mobile.com/home-internet/deals

Guess you gotta be a current subscriber. They have provided me great customer service through the years.

I am not in love with Comcast. I have been hoping for fiber but it likely won’t happen anytime soon.

Unfortunately TMo not Verizon home internet is available here either but I’d imagine it’d happen before fiber. Hope it works out for you. That’s a good deal.

This!
I don't think anybody can beat what they offer with all the perks you get with the 55+ Magenta plan.

BTW, I have been using TMHI for over a year now and really like it.
I still have and will keep my super slow but reliable AT&T ADSL as backup since I am not sure I'll trust 5G as the only internet connection in a remote work setting.

We had Verizon FIOS for a number of years. It was flawless.

Then we moved six years ago to a place I said I'd never move...a place with no FIOS service.

So...on the advice of a local friend, we went with Comcast Business Service rather than consumer. Same coax, different back ends, different management and technical teams, different SLAs (like four hours rather than seven days...)

It's been pretty good. My wife and I both work from home, i spend a lot of time on Google Meet and my work computer is a ChromeBox (no internet, no workie).

I just couldn't deal with an unreliable internet service. Some of my colleagues do have issues, which show up, painfully, during video meetings...

It’s a good deal but don’t expect to use this service for gaming. The latency rate is terrible and won’t be satisfied.

Keep a copy of your contract because at some point you can expect them to try and weasel in a price increase. Read the contract to confirm there are no conditional clauses.

My coworker bought a truck over a decade ago. Along with the purchase, he got free oil changes for the life of the truck. So he takes it to the dealer for every oil change, and every time they try to charge him for the service. He has to show them the contract to convince them otherwise.

Weird, switches to $50 per month after I check eligibility.

How do you get it for $25/month?

Do you have Tmobile now? Verizon is based on already having a cell plan.

Yeah, I was checking for my father. We've been T-Mobile customers for 20 years.

I'll have him call. Thanks.

Tried this at when we moved a couple months ago and the experience was awful.. I could only get a weak connection despite being assured I was in their coverage area and my local towers were fully upgraded. During the evening it would just stop working until we did a hard reset. After a week I gave up. And then I spent three days getting a run-around from their customer service before having to beg a T-Mobile employee in a local store to call them on my behalf and take care of it to get the service stopped within the 30-day trial period. They are still trying to charge me for it and I'm going to try calling once before disputing it with my CC company on principle.

So, switched back to Xfinity and it's been flawless. We're just switching to Xfinity mobile too - way cheaper than Verizon when you're getting internet and mobile.

tl;dr - T-Mobile sucks, and their internet service sucks doubly.

I think they give you a 100.00 debit card and that covers discount for year maybe...
