My latest random cycling related (sort of) purchase: Serotta paint samples

These popped up on Facebook, couldn’t resist. 16 tubes and 7 decal color samples. I’m going to build a display case and hang them in the bike shop. Seller said he’s had them about 20 years.

I have bad ideas…

Neat.

A while back Chris Kvale repainted my Colorado LT in a red that's pretty close to #7 (counting from the left).

Cool, you could make some neat wind chimes out of those.

Doesn't really matter, since the OP won't do it (and rightfully so) but they'd have to be modified if you wanted more than just one-note clanging.

I remember a similar set at the Bike Gallery on Sandy Blvd, Portland.

Made my choice easy.

I love that two-tone blue fade, 5th from right. Really beautiful.

But the big question is, what tubing are they? SL, SLX, SP, TSX, or maybe Reynolds 531 or 753 even?

PS. I wonder if you could find a welder to braze them together - you might have enough tubing there for at least the three main tubes and the head tube!

Is the color in the middle the famous Big Boy Blue?

Very cool.
Will you be building a display stand for them?

When I sold Serotta my paint sample set, it had a wooden stand to place all the tubes into.
