I'm old enough to remember "tie goes to the attacker." Measuring millimeters on a screen is dumb.

If Brenden Aaronson played basketball he would start for Duke.

Same with Matt Turner - he didnt play soccer till he was 14 - only played to keep in shape for baseball and basketball.

For some reason he is going unnoticed in this WC -
Of course controlling the mid field helps, but still.

His shot stopping has been great, but I think his distribution has been equally good.

0 goals besides the Zimmermann gaffe is a solid group stage.

Tyler Adams is the MVP. He is critical to the defense playing so strong in midfield. We wouldn’t be here if he hadn’t played so well. I watched the England game twice and he was all over the place. Same last night.

Pulisic is our best player and talisman. Sargent played really well as a true 9. His first touches on almost every ball were perfect. Truly amazing. Weah had an ok game but his speed on that side with Dest was what opened it up completely and the goal.

Big one Saturday. I don’t want to wish for any team but I like the Dutch for us. I think we have a chance but either way great to get out of the group. Huge accomplishment

Caught the last 30 minutes of the Group C final matches. Flipping back and forth between Mexico-Saudi Arabia & Poland-Argentina.

That was such a crazy finish. So nerve wracking -- and I didn't care about any of the four teams! I could not imagine being a supporter of any of those 4.

I was rooting for both - hahah - I want to see more of Lewandowski and I want to see more of Di Maria and Messi.
And I want to see CR7 loose.

Look at what you guys have done. Tata Martinez is gone. There's no guarantee that the next manager is as inept.

Then again, I'm really looking forward to the day that the U.S. trounces LLL Tri at Azteca.

Man Belgium/Croatia was a game - Lukaku in tears. I was hoping both teams would go thru.

I really shouldn't be in such a piss boiling mood, but I just can't help myself when it comes to LLL Tri.

And despite having many reservations against Berhalter, at least the man didn't muck up the team selection that much. Busquets playing 90 minutes at this level while shunting Rodri to central defense? Having old-and-slow Azpi and young-and-callow Balde playing in lieu of Alba and Carvajal? Madness... I thought the Japanese manager was too smart by half by playing a weird line-up against CR, but Luis Enrique took it to the next level.

Wow. Lukaku is obviously not 100% & match fit. Feel really sorry for them.

Amazing drama so far & we haven't gotten to the knock-out stages yet.
