Set-piece goals for the MNT are like London buses. One could wait for ages and not see one, and then get three in quick succession.
I’ll take it. And the corners actually cleared the first defender. Really pleasantly surprised by Acosta’s deliveries.

Solid performance all the way round. Honduras admittedly is not a very strong side.
de la Torre impressed. But let's not do this whole "Ice Bowl" thing again. Colorado in snow (vs Costa Rica two cycles ago) is one thing. This was another -- not to be repeated.

It might be a blessing in disguise for El Tri that they have no fans in their home venue so that they aren't booed. They are decidedly second best 25 minutes in. Lucky not to be down 1-0. Wow.

H head coach Hernan Dario Gomez protested the conditions prior to the game. He said that it was 'not normal' that his players, used to temperatures reaching 86 degrees (as it was last week in H), should have to play in a location that is 'not for enjoying, it's for suffering'.
And he is right - it is (Vikings) throwball weather - not football weather.

All part of gamesmanship.
Concacaf should have spaced out the events as to prevent this level of s***housery from occurring (as in, no matches in January). Also, it's sort of a squeaky bum moment going into the final round of games. A lot to play for...

Seven of my students were at the match at Allianz last night.
They had a blast.  Let's remember though, that they had multiple layers on and were guzzling hot chocolate. Let's hope they (USMNT) don't do this ever again. They got away with it last night, only because we are soccer crazed in the Twin Cities.

Bugger, it's getting feisty in Orlando
Berhalter should start thinking about subbing off a few players. Adams has been so good in avoiding picking up another yellow card, and it would be a shame if he were to pick one up in the second half.
